Our Story
Swords and Spoons was founded by Paul and Jennifer, proud veterans of the Navy and Army. After serving in the military, Paul and Jen turned their passion for gaming into a thriving business that brings people together. The History of Veterans Day
Veterans Day, originally known as Armistice Day, was first observed on November 11, 1919, to mark the first anniversary of the end of World War I. The armistice that ended hostilities on the Western Front took effect at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918. In 1926, Congress passed a resolution for an annual observance, and November 11th became a national holiday beginning in 1938. Unlike Memorial Day, which honors those who died in military service, Veterans Day pays tribute to all American veterans—living or dead—but especially gives thanks to living veterans who served their country honorably during war or peacetime.
